On Monday, Joe Stepinski (45) was shot and critically wounded by a former NYPD officer Gene Barrett (51) when a conflict turned fierce around 2:30 pm on Green Point Avenue, Brooklyn. Melissa Rotundo (Stepinski’s girlfriend) is said to be the landlord of the building where the victim and the former police officer both lives in. After shooting Barrett ran inside the building, later police locked and surrounded the building with snipers. Officers went to the roof top while one officer was trying to convince Barrett to surrender.
